About Us
Prior to receiving his Professional Inspector's License in 2005 from the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), Mr. Hackney (Jerry) spent twenty five years in the repairing, and maintaining of structural, mechanical and electrical systems found in improvements to buildings and structures, including several years as a commissioned boiler & machinery inspector in the State of Texas. He has assisted numerous clients by providing on-going inspections during the construction phase of their home.
Mr. Hackney honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era in the Engineering Division on board two different ships. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master in Project Management. Jerry also holds a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accreditation from the US Green Building Counsel (USGBC), Certification from the Building Performance Institute, Inc. and is a Certified RESNET HERS Rater, an IECC Residential Energy Inspector and holds the National Association of Realtors GREEN designation, and has a NACHI Certified Green Building certification. Mr. Hackney is a LEVEL II Thermographer. Thermal imaging or infra red is an advanced non-destructive technology that allows the inspector to show the client things about your home that no one can show you with conventional inspection methods, including items such as gaps and voids in the wall and ceiling insulation, undetected water leaks and moisture, and electrical hot spots or hazards.
Mr. Hackney has performed hundreds of inspections in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He utilizes a reporting software that produces high quality detailed photos and easy to read text. The report is generally sent via link as a PDF file for reviewing and downloading or as an attachment depending on the file size. Lastly, we are fully insured as required by the State of Texas.

My Promise to You!
Your home is one of the biggest investments that you will make. Choosing the right home inspector for this major investment can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you may not have the opportunity to meet me until after you hire me. Different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and yes, different pricing.
One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort.
